The Iowa Hawkeye football team had a great year and finished the season in the top 10 which is just awesome. Despite that, they did not really dominate many games and they lost a couple along the way.
The Iowa Hawkeye mens basketball team is just not very good. It’s fun to watch players starting to show signs of life but there is not even a hint of a possibility of them making the NIT this year.
The real big men on campus are the wrestling team. They are completely and totally the number 1 team in the nation. They’ve already beat several of the other teams in the top 25 including the number 2, 3, 4 and 5 teams. That’s just sick. Could you imagine a football team or basketball team being that dominating? That’s all they would talk about on ESPN.
If, like me, you know nothing about wrestling but want to ride the fun of a dominating team, you should really be reading the Black Heart Gold Pants site. In addition to the normal basketball/football coverage that you can find on the normal sports sites and a great sense of humor that the normal sports sites lack, they do a great job of covering the wrestling scene and making you feel like you know enough to follow along.
