Because of my football season tickets, the athletic department sends me these pretty cool posters of the football team, and the men’s and women’s basketball teams each season. They arrive in the mail in these neat tubes that the kids love to open.
This years Iowa men’s basketball poster says about all you need to know about the Hawkeyes this season based on what we knew in the preseason when these were made.
We were pretty certain that we would have three people on the team. We were not quite comfortable predicting who they will be as you can tell based on the lack of numbers or even heads. We figured we could scrounge up a couple other guys from somewhere on campus to round out a starting five.
We knew we had a schedule of games including dates and locations.
And that was about it.
Seriously, that is about as sad and depressing of a sports poster as I have ever seen.
One thing that seems to have been true and was foreshadowed in the poster is that unless all five people are holding onto the ball at the same time, they are probably going to turn it over.
